Head out to the east, across the creek, traveling along the ancient path of the Native Americans who traversed this landscape generations ago. Or, turn northeast and witness the “corduroy” patterns created by the flocks of sheep that fed on these slopes and bedded-down in the rock-lined pens the shepherds created there on the hillside.
Feel a little more restless? If so, head west to the upper pasture where Mother Nature is creating playa-lakes with every rainfall. This “playa-nursery” will afford views from Colorado to Texas, bird species that change with the seasons, and the chance to share your walk with Prong-Horned Antelope.
